Yeah, time sure files. In a blink of an eye and its 2009!

School starts tomorrow, hope you people have geared up for this final stretch ahead before the Big O's.

Timetable's up on the VS website and Most of our teachers still remain the same except for Maths and physics. Mr Su's no longer gonna teach us, in his place would be 2 separate teachers taking over him for Add. maths and E. maths, while Mrs Setho will be taking over Mr Liang . Shan't comment much, just that i feel that Mr Su's the best.

Mrs Peh is still teaching us Chemistry though. *zomg*

Looking foward to seeing everyone again. This time not as devils, but as dragons. May we soar and reap success in whatever we do.

Yea it's me one of the EX-CA(ke) community member, now BA(rbeque) community member writing this post, to update all Devils and Dragons to be on the Class BBQ on 5 Nov evening. BE WARNED and PLZ TAKE NOTE of the following, for it is extremely important... This is the list of what we're going to get for the BBQ, and for any opinion or objection, PLZ DO tell us through TAGGING or contacting the ONCE AGAIN SELF-PROCLAIMED chairman, Yun Han.

^^ This is my first time blogging here and i'll try to make it a fast one, since i still have much to do. As the title had stated, this post will be all about Teachers' Day. Right now, i have a dilemma, should i upload some image that i have taken weeks ago, or images that have to do about Teachers' Day[TD]?

TA-DUH, if it's odd number, i shall post about things unrelated to Teachers' Day. If the number is even, then i shll post about TD first ^^
K seriously, i am too lazy to take out my calculator for it will take up approximately a few seconds and some amount of energy. WE MUST BE DECISIVE, as Mdm Ow had said so i shall post about TD first, since it is tomorrow ^^

On Monday, the little devils had a mini discussion, so mini it is smaller than [X]. The main agenda during the discussion is to decide upon what to do for TD. Thanks to our almighty SELF PROCLAIMED CHAIRMAN [SPC]Yun Han of the Cake Community [CaComm], the things we had to do was listed out in great details.

During the trip to Parkway, we didn't waste our time. The CaComm, being formed juz about 5 minutes ago, have an astonishing number of members.
Yun Han the SPC,
Caleb the Treasurer elected by the SPC,
Timotty the member [Chairman after voting on Thursday morning, 8+ am which is during english class]
and HH, another member ^^
We made use of the large amount of time [10 mins] to decide what kind of cakes to order for TD. Many great ideas came from the MANY members we had and among some of them, here are some of the better ones....

Finally a blog entry after weeks. Sorry guys but i just couldn't find the time to blog =D

But first, Happy National Day !!!

Yeah, today's the 9th of August, the very day Singapore gained its independence in 1965.
That means that Singapore's 43 this year! We're still a young nation which has a bright future =)

In my opinion, i feel that previous NDP theme songs are much more meaningful and nicer than the NDP songs of 07 and 08. Couldn't really feel the sense of belonging in this year's NDP theme song...

Family day was not as fun as i would expect. Could see that the old folks were not really enjoying the performances in which boys danced like girls.

Wasn't sure what was the outcome of the 3B vs 3D soccer match because i did not go =(

First Day of School

Hurray, the holidays have ended.

Today marks the start of Term 3, another hectic term. I guess in a few weeks time you would see people start to frantically mug and try to "spam" questions at teachers.

But today was fun i guess. We had our Ft period at first which turned out to be fun and enjoyable as always. We got to discuss different things while we were seated in our groups. Yeah, and Bih Yau walked up in front of the class and told Mdm Nabilah that he was too busy to be the group leader for the project because he was the Chairman of PSB. Lol, nice one Bih Yau. Sidney became the leader =o

After that was PE. We ran 4.8km... Wow. After recess was Emath followed by the very "fierce" period xD.

Learnt that apparently Aaron chia has some high ranking post in Ncc (Land). *clap clap*

Well, that's all for the first day of school. May the coming days be even better.
Some people just keep making fun of Japan.. I mean c'mon lah, japan isn't what you think it is.

Just a gentle reminder...

guys, it will really help the monitors during morning assembly if you would move in to form the second row OR even better, move in your self. For the majority of the people, as red shirts you are to lead in all areas including this minor one. So next time, just move in so we wont have so much trouble with a lack of space. Have common sense,if there's bird shit there, you dont need to sit there. thanks ^^

Guys, guess what?
Our Class got an average of 82% for E-maths paper 1 !!
Lets keep on working harder for our other subjects, too...

Today marks the end of our Chemistry Mid-Year-Exams. So far, we are left with Add Maths,Modern World History and physics. There isn't much to blog about the exams except that they were exceptionally tough.

Here are some gentle reminders:

Remember to bring your calculators, maths sets and rulers for Add maths tommorow guys.

Also,remember to take a break from studying once in a while.

2DAY 3 kind souls so ever kindly volunteered themselves to go to the so called LIPO building to get the class jersey, ALL 40 pieces of them

HAHA what's that? ONE of the two bags that is full of the jersey, the collection have been postponed for over a few weeks already and since the X country is just around the corner, WHY NOT WE TAKE IT AND WEAR THE JERSEY FOR IT!

Start of Term 2

Since the start of term 2 week 1,many things have happened and i feel that it is only right that everyone is allowed a chance to catch up on what 3D has done so far =D

The first week of the term was tiring as usual,with many people still having the Holiday Blues.I believe most of us spent our holidays coming back to school and rushing our tons of holiday homework.On the first PE lesson of the term which was rudely interupted by a photo-taking session,instead of doing the usual Rugby (don't feel sad Lutfan...) ,we were introduced to a new sport,Badminton.Most of us enjoyed it,i guess.

Our Biology lesson was rather shocking too.Instead of good old Mdm Nabilah,Miss Shireen would be taking over her lessons and teaching us Bio instead.Shan't comment on her lessons here as every teacher has different teaching methods.

Physics and Chemistry lessons are enjoyable as usual with Mr Liang telling us cold jokes and Mrs Peh giving us Chemistry tests ever so often.

English was fun! Thanks to Mdm Ow who has put in so much effort into planning interesting English lessons for us!!

A and E-maths was made interesting by Mr Su once again.

S.S is somewhat difficult to understand and instead of staying in the classroom we have a mass lecture in the Av room with other Secondary 3 classes.

No comment about Mother Tongue...

Hope that everyone has been studying hard and Lastly,

Heres wishing a Happy 15th Birthday to Lin Chun !!

From now on,anyone who wishes to inform the class of their upcoming Birthday will have a post on the class blog specially dedicated to wishing them a Happy Birthday!

Sec3 Overseas Camp

3D is back from the 4D3N Sec3 Overseas Camp at the Kahang Organic Rice Eco Farm (KOREF) !!!

It was an interesting and fun camp,where many of us were exposed to many different things we may have never experienced in Singapore.Throughout the 4D3N,we faced violent weather,muddy campsites and many other unfavourable conditions.
But we managed to pull through as a class and showed the rest of the cohort what 3D is made up of during the campfire night.

Day 1
We received our Sec 3 Overseas cap T-shirt as well as class T-shirt in the morning when the Sec3 cohort was gathered at the parade square.Shortly after,we set off on a long bus journey towards KOREF.The prefects were leading the class in pop songs,some people were catching some sleep while others were playing Bridge..

Raft-building was fun.Working together in teams of 6-7 to build a raft isn't easy.Basically we were provided raw materials (barrels,tree logs and rope) and are supposed to make a 2-seater raft under an hour.Most of us barely managed to make a floating raft but nevertheless we had a good laugh at ourselves when the raft came apart,piece by piece in the water...

Pitching our tents in the rain that day made the inside of our tents Flooded with rainwater.
Eventually we managed to make it rather dry.

Eating our meals was very very very chaotic.
How do you expect 170 people to squeeze into that tiny little cookhouse at the same time?
However i realised that organic food isn't that bad after all when you are starving..

We bathed in toilets full of mud and grass and squeezed together into a small tent to sleep

Lights out at 11oohrs...

Day 2

Went hiking at Gunung Lambak in the morning.During the bus journey to Gunung Lambuk,we played bridge again =)
Anyway,the climb was not easy.There were no paths paved nicely for us to climb.We had to use grab on to trees and ropes to slowly ascend Gunung Lambak.
We took a few photos along the way which are currently with Quinn..

Had Chicken rice for lunch at the car park near Gunung Lambak after which we headed back to KOREF.

Had our nature walk with a very knowledgable instructor.He thought us about survival in the forest and explained the importance of Forests in our world.

And er,along the way,there were leeches.Caleb had a leech attached to his wrist sucking his blood.The leech was initially very thing and small but after sucking so much blood...it became fat and thick,about the size of your little finger...
Too bad the leech dropped off before we could take a picture.

Had our Nightwalk at night.Duh.....

Initially we thought that we would have to walk one by one,alone.But instead the class was divided into 2 groups and was lined up in a single file each.We are to walk in a "choot-choot train" manner in pitch black darkness.To my surprise,there was no one attempting to scare us and the nightwalk turned out to be rather enjoyable.Had a great time once again,thanks Instructors!!

We somewhat started preparing for our campfire today..

Lights out at 1115hrs...

Day 3

Woke up early as usual.Everyone was with mixed feelings as today was the last day we had in KOREF.

Started the day by doing the Bamboo rafting.There were 2 types of bamboo rafting,2-man and 4-man.
It was fun rafting about on a large paddy field that had a depth of water up to your knees,the view was fantastic as well.
And Joon Hao (champion) did something he called "kamikaze" to me and Lin Chun's 2-man raft which i shall not elaborate further..
For the 4-man raft,it was Way way way way more successful.The only difference was that we had to stand on the raft instead of sit.

Next was the Water Obstacles where we had to pair up to complete.Most of the obstacles required us to balance on a small wooden log and move from place to place.
No one managed to complete the whole course without falling into the water,i guess.
'Cos those that were dry were pushed back into the water...

The PRCs were trying their best to learn Vs Unite while waiting for their turn to go on the water Obstacles.In the end it paid off when they cheered they hearts out for VS as well as 3D.
*3 cheers for the PRCs =)*

The Inter-Class games was not bad either.We gave it our best and our all but unfortunately we did not manage to make it into the top 3 positions for the water-polo and captain's ball category.
Good job guys,i'm sure we will do better next time!!!

We then had our short Campfire Discussion outside of Timothy's tent and managed to finalise everything we were going to do during the campfire.

The Campfire

We were seated in an open area near the forest in the middle of the night.
Many of us felt that the campfire was not really that enjoyable because of many factors.But i am sure some people enjoyed it and cheered their hearts out..

Our skit was singing about things we went through since we boarded the coach that was headed for KOREF.
For example we would sing "shut up and drive" when the scene was on the coach.
When the scene was about waking up in the morning,we would sing "you are my sunshine"
We ended on a high with the PRCs leading us in Vs Unite and we Rocked.

The last day was more of about packing,doing reflections and breaking camp.

Throughout the camp,3D has managed to bond together well.I believe many of us have made many new friends be it from 3D or other classes.Let us continue to do our best and give it our fullest in whatever we do and excel.We,3D,are a brotherhood of Gentlemen,Professionals and Sportsmen.

On the 25th of January,3D attended a play at the esplanade called "shu shu"

It started at 8pm and ended at 9pm.So bascially when we went in to the theatre there were three people ~~stoning~~ standing at the stage,staring at one another.
The background of the stage was 3 slides joined together.(slides as in the ones the projector projects its image onto)

Every 15secs or so they would change places with once another and at the same time maintaining a "triangular" formation.
Then there was the music which went loud then soft then loud again.
"The music is very irritating"-Aaron Chia =P

The performance was interesting but i believe ~~all~~ most of us were wondering what the play is about.
Frankly speaking,i myself am also unsure.
But nevertheless it Was a interesting performance judging from Mr Tan's reaction.~~He was laughing almost throughout the whole play.~~

Maybe he understood the play and we did not =]
